The OBÉ project launches its first ever program for school children at Kings Court school, Ibadan The OBÉ team was at Kings Court School on the 3rd of  May to teach the students how to grow vegetables and herbs for soup.  They were also taught how to maximize little spaces with the use of pet bottles and containers.  Mr Ogunleye, a catfish farmer and also a team member of OBE Program also shared on Homestead Catfish farming The excitement was through the roof as many students expressed their desire to share this new found knowledge with their parents and family. Mrs Tomi Olatoye, the initiator of the OBÉ project, appreciated Mrs Bimpe Okunola, the proprietress of the school for fully embracing the OBÉ project.  Responding, Mrs Okunola said that  "We believe that by teaching our children how to grow their own food, we are also teaching them to be kind and caring. OBE Garden for every home.  Oluwatomi Olatoye believes that every home can create OBE Garden. Simply by planting what they need to cook soup (OBE). The initiative will be spread across Nigeria. The south west initiative tagged OBE Program, The Northern program is tagged MIYA and The Eastern part program tagged OFE. All meaning Soup. We are have started training the Trainers. And we intend to train 2000 Trainers within the first 6months who in turn will train others. OBE Garden will also help families earn extra income  by selling excess produce in the neighborhood market. With OBE initiative hunger is not hopeless

OBE project set to launch in Ibadan on the 25th of April 2023. The OBE project aims at equipping every household with valuable information and resources on how to grow all the foodstuff they need for soup, right in their compound. This Ibadan launch would mark the second state that this project has reached. The first having been launched in Ondo state in 2021 under the initiative of Mrs Tomi Olatoye, the Vice Chairperson of Ondo State Agricultural Commodities Association (OSACA). She highlights the advantages of the OBE project as follows: 1. Ensuring food security for each household 2 Food sustainability scheme from one household to the other 3. Source or employment for women and the youths 4. A formidable source of poverty Alleviation 5. Providing access to fresh and varieties of vegetables 6. Creating streams of income for households, as excess harvest can be sold in neighborhood markets. The Ibadan launch would also set the tone for many more to come in other states of Nigeria. VEN...
