OSIAFFA 2024 - Gov Lucky Aiyedatiwa' Encourages Home Garden


Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is encouraging residents to grow their own food instead of relying solely on market purchases. He made this statement during the opening of the Ondo State International Agricultural Show and Food Fair in Akure, where he was represented by the commissioner for agriculture.

The governor highlighted that buying commodities that could be locally grown has led to high food prices. He urged Ondo residents to adopt home gardening, sack farming, and other agricultural innovations to enhance food security in the state.

Dr. Olusegun Mimiko emphasized the importance of agriculture in Nigeria's industrial revolution. He described agriculture as a viable sector that should be integrated with information technology and financial institutions to make Nigeria more competitive globally.
