Southeast Stevia Development Project Gains Momentum in Umuahia Meeting In a groundbreaking meeting held at Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, the Southeast Stevia Development Project saw a significant turnout of farmers from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states. The convener, Dr. Paul E. Ugwu, noted that the prevailing sentiment was the commitment to fostering development in the Southeast through love and institutional discipline. Twelve points key agreements and discussions arrived at by the meeting include 1. Establishment of WhatsApp groups in each Southeast state and a zonal group for leaders. 2. Farmers to register with a fee of #5000 at the time of booking stevia seedlings. 3. Urgent booking of stevia seedlings due to the impending rainy season. 4.
